Twentieth Amendment 〈美〉美国宪法第二十条修正案 该修正案1932年3月3日由国会提出，于1933年1月23日被批准。该修正案被称之为「跛鸭」〔lame duck〕修正案，它将总统、副总统以及国会议员任期从原来3月4日分别提前至1月20日和1月3日，避免政治交替期过长带来的负面作用。根据原规定，总统、副总统和国会议员虽于11月份选出，但要等到下一年3月才能就职，总统和副总统要等待4个月时间；而新当任的国会议员，除非是特别会议，实际要等到下一年的12月份，即当选为议员13个月以后，才能走马上任。国会在这一年多时间内，其中许多已是落选者，仍在代表选民，故被称为「跛鸭会议」。此修正案将过渡期都缩短为1个多月，使美国政治制度日趋完善。修正案还对总统继任等问题作了规定。
